2017 – ACIP Votes to Recommend Third Dose of MMR During Mumps Outbreaks

From our November 1, 2017 Facebook Post:

The ACIP voted last week to recommend the use of a third “booster” shot of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine during outbreaks of the mumps. Let’s get some fact straight about mumps and this new recommendation:

🔴 Dr. Manisha Patel, a medical officer at the CDC, said that the recent outbreaks have occurred among vaccinated people.

🔴 Merck is being sued for falsifying efficacy rates of the mumps portion of the MMR vaccine. (See https://scholar.google.com/scholar_case?case=6981480541611560035&hl=en&as_sdt=6&as_vis=1&oi=scholarr for the newest updates on this case!)

🤔 So, Merck allegedly lies about their product. The government knows about it. Just the vaccinated are getting sick. But still, the government’s ONLY possible solution during outbreaks is… wait for it… ANOTHER DOSE OF A FAULTY VACCINE!

🔴 Would it be too much to ask the ACIP to investigate why the unvaccinated are NOT getting sick during these outbreaks and use, I don’t know, evidence-based medicine before making sweeping recommendations? Or for them to demand a mumps vaccine whose efficacy rating is based on non-falsified data?

🔴 I think we can all agree with infectious disease specialist Dr. William Schaffner’s bold and super-scientific proclamation about this vaccine: “It’s not a magic potion.”
